We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive business growth, identify new revenue opportunities, and strengthen our brand presence within the local market. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of our operations, enhancing customer engagement, and supporting the expansion of our franchise network.

Job Introduction

The link between The Franchise Owner and Subway. Your primary focus is to analyse, audit and support the Owner by protecting the Brand and making their business more profitable. Analysis of data of a pre-assigned patch & area ensuring all company goals are pushed above target and new tools learnt & implemented.

Main Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business and revenue opportunities within the local and regional market.

  • Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity to support strategic decision-making.

  • Develop and implement local marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives to increase brand visibility and sales.

  • Build partnerships with local businesses, suppliers, and community organisations to strengthen brand presence.

  • Support the launch and development of new store locations or service offerings.

  • Work closely with the franchise owner to ensure consistent brand standards, customer experience, and operational performance.

  • Monitor business performance metrics and prepare progress reports for management.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in business development, marketing, or a similar role within the food service, hospitality, or retail sector.

  • Strong strategic planning, negotiation, and leadership skills.

  • Excellent communication and analytical abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement marketing strategies that drive sales growth.

  • Knowledge of digital marketing tools and techniques is highly desirable.

  • Experience working within a franchise environment is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of management practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of retail and/or restaurant industry operations.

  • Ability to develop, and maintain effective working relationships with partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

  • Food Retail experience essential
  • Efficient use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint &  Google Gmail & GDrive
  • A set number of morning, afternoon, evening (after 5pm) and minimum one Saturday and Sunday evaluations per month must be completed. Evaluations cannot be performed less than 10 days after the previous one, nor on the same time of day or week as the previous month.
  • Time spent in store must be an absolute minimum of 2.5 hours and Evals must be transmitted within 24 hours.
  • During evaluations; training, coaching and assistance should be offered for any issue that is raised. You should do everything within your means to help them rectify a problem.
  • All training and coaching should be recorded in the evaluation in detail.
  • Paperwork, including but not limited to expanded WISR, Control sheet, Subcard, UofS, usage adjustments must be reviewed on every visit and any anomalies must be recorded.
  • You will monitor a set number of stores (Referred to as your patch) every month and assist them in tasks outside of the evaluations including but not limited to operational questions, marketing material assistance, customer comments, Live IQ analysis and wisr transmissions.
